Strengthened by their experience and commitment after all these years, CRD continue to develop, try out and to test new products to make riding and racing motorcycles even more pleasurable.
In a constantly evolving market, in which numerous companies are participating, CRD stands out as the specialist in off road accessories (exhaust pipes and aluminum protection) for motorbikes and quads. CRD is constantly coming up with new ideas, developing them, producing and distributing a wide range of accessories through their network of professionals such as  ourselves across the world.
Through the related links we are going to present to you their history and the riders who have placed their trust in CRD.

CRD (Castex Racing Department) was born out of the company CASTEX MOTORLAND (a motorbike dealer).

In 1991 CRD created and commercialised its first accessory development and assembly for the Suzuki DR 350 S motorbike.
Acclaimed by the motorbike professionals and the other players in the sector, this step forward led to CRD moving into this new territory on a permanent basis

From September 1996 onwards CRD began to create and to commercialize its first two ranges of products:

  • The enduro skid plates in shiny aluminum.
  • The stainless steel ABSOLUTE POWER exhausts ( silencers and headerpipes ) for four stroke mono-cylinder motorbikes (used in Enduro, rally and trail
In 1997 CRD extended its range of aluminum protection guards by launching on to the market its Motor Cross glide plates and the shiny aluminum frame guards for 2 and 4 stroke motorbikes.

In 1998 CRD continued with its commitment to innovation as it designed its TITANIUM ABSOLUTE POWER exhaust.
CRD also developed its SX/MX products and launched the ABSOLUTE SX/MX GENERATION series of silencers in aluminum and carbon for 2 stroke motorbikes.

In 1999, launching of the RAFAL range for trails and air filters.

 

From 2000 onwards CRD stops selling motorcycles in order to dedicate 100% to the activity of manufacturing and distributing its products (This year it opened the CRD FACTORY).

CRD conceives its silencer range according to FIM norms (ABSOLUTE PERFORMANCE in stainless for Enduro 94 dB/A, ABSOLUTE RACING TITANIUM exhaust for Motocross with 98 dB/A) CRD proposes a new design of the stainless ABSOLUTE POWER silencer by offering a new elliptic shape ( ABSOLUTE POWER II )

In 2002/2003, creation of ABSOLUTE R100 silencer in aluminium/stainless for MotoCross (FIM SM/SX 2002 norms 98 dB/A), by the Advanced Castex Development Service.
Enlarging of protection range (rad braces) and extension of silencer and protections range on ATVs (A Arms, Glide plates, frame guards, rear skid plate)

2005 : marketing of the ABSOLUTE PERFORMANCE 3 silencer in polished aluminium and street legal.
Division of protection range :

  • ABSOLUTE PROTECTION range ( for leisure use)
  • PRO RIDER range (for competition use)

Lastly in December 2005 the nerf bars and the bumpers complete the aluminum range for quads.

2006 : Extension of the range of the silencers :
  • Launch of the silencer MX 9.6 : In accordance with Supermoto and Motocross FIM regulations, this silencer with an aggressive look improves the performances in the middle and top rev range
  • From December, 2006, launch of the silencer Quiet Power, in accordance with Enduro FIM norms, it improves the performances in the low and mid range
  • Improvement of the range of header pipe : the range BIG SIZE allows a better gasoutlet and improve the performances in the top rev range
  • Conception of protect head pipe in carbon, adaptable on the collector of origin and on the collector CRD

Trusted with the role of supplying the constructors' championships of the years 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1996 for the Enduro competition program, we won two championship of France titles with SUZUKI (in 1990 and 1991) and two champion of France titles with HUSQVARNA (in 1994).
1995 : The famous rider Jimmy LEWIS chose CRD and finished third in the REVADA Rally riding a RM 250 CRD from the GLC.

1996 : VICE FRENCH CHAMPION over 125 c c Inter category with David FRETIGNE, official YAMAHA MOTOR FRANCE rider

1997: CRD is official sponsor for the American team at the ISDE in Italy.1999 : ENDURO WORLD CHAMPION with Silvan PETTERI on EC 250 ( Gasgas factory team)

2000 : ISDE WORLD CHAMPION, ENDURO FRENCH CHAMPION and FRENCH CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPION with David FRETIGNE.

2001 : ENDURO WORLD CHAMPION with Stéphane PETERHANSEL on WRF 250 (UFO Team) – FRENCH ENDURO CHAMPION , FRENCH CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPION and ISDE WORLD CHAMPION with David FRETIGNE.

2002 : ENDURO WORLD CHAMPION with Sylvan PETTERI – WR 125, Samuli ARO – WR 250, Anders ERIKSSON – TE 570 (CH RACING – HUSQVARNA FACTORY TEAM)
ENDURO WORLD CHAMPION with Peter BERGVALL on WRF 250,
FRENCH ENDURO CHAMPION with Stéphane PETERHANSEL on WRF 250.

2003 : ENDURO WORLD CHAMPION with Anders ERIKSSON on TE 450 and Petri POHJAMO on EC 125
FRENCH ENDURO CHAMPION and FRENCH CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPION with David FRETIGNE

2004 : HM Honda team with Jean–Michel BAYLE and Cyril ESQUIROL.
FRENCH ENDURO CHAMPION with David FRETIGNE. He finished seventh in the Telefonica Dakar Rally.

FRENCH SUPERMOTARD CHAMPION with Adrien CHAREYRE ( SIMA TEAM)

2005: VICE ENDURO WORLD CHAMPION and FRENCH ENDURO CHAMPION with Marc GERMAIN on a WRF 250.
For the first time CRD is a partner of the World Endure Championship and of the French Supermotard championship.
CRD continued to sponsor the HM HONDA TEAM, the POLARIS TEAM and the KAWASAKI MOTOR FRANCE TEAM.
2006 :
For the second year running CRD is a partner of the World Enduro Championship.
